Staying in Boston

Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics' All-Star forward, is reportedly staying in the green and white for a while longer. According to multiple sources, Brown and the Celtics have agreed to a five-year, $304 million supermax contract extension.

Brown, who was born on October 24, 1996, in Marietta, Georgia, was a first-round pick (No. 3 overall) by the Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft out of the University of California, Berkeley. He has quickly become one of the team's most important players, averaging 20.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in his four seasons with Boston.

Brown's new contract, which will begin after the 2023-24 season, is a major commitment from the Celtics, who view Brown as a key part of their future. The 6-foot-6, 223-pound forward is known for his athleticism, scoring ability, and defensive versatility.

With Brown locked up long-term, the Celtics can now focus on other roster moves this offseason. They will likely look to add another star player to complement Brown and Jayson Tatum, who is already under contract for the next four seasons. Brown's contract extension is another sign that the Celtics are determined to contend for an NBA championship. The team has made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in each of the past two seasons, and they believe that Brown is a key piece to their success.
